Lukáš Jabůrek is a leading Czech glass artist and designer. In his work, he sensitively combines traditional craftsmanship with an authorial approach and contemporary design. Until 2018, he served as the artistic director of the prestigious Moser glassworks in Karlovy Vary, after which he embarked on his own artistic journey. He returned to his native region of the Ore Mountains, where he revives defunct glassmaking traditions, giving them new life.
His work is characterized by a strong signature style – he works with color, optical refraction, and the depth of glass, into which he embeds emotions, symbolism, and stories. He perceives glass as an honest material that "never lies" and can express what words cannot. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Czech Grand Design 2012 Public Award.
